A very long list of complaints against the world
1. Weather (climate change) — If you have checked your local weather app or even stepped outside this week, you will have noticed that the temperatures have been consistently below freezing.
2. Drexel University Tuition — Every year, the tuition here at Drexel rises, making it difficult for students who are dependent on financial aid.
3. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — Criminals
4. Trump — This list is not in order because if it were, President Donald J. Trump would be at the very top of my list of complaints in this world. This man has done nothing good for this country, but I will keep it simple and only discuss his current term served. Project 2025 was his objective this past year, and he has made it his mission to raise hell, eradicate people of color, and separate families, no matter what.
5. Billionaires — Billionaires are ethically wrong. With the amount of money they have, they could solve so many of the world’s problems, but instead, they hoard their wealth to make themselves richer and watch us suffer.
6. Blowing out someone else’s candles — Do not care how old you are, this is the rudest and most inconsiderate thing you could do when you are celebrating someone’s birthday. A birthday is to honor someone’s life; it is an achievement to reach another year, something a lot of people do not get to do, and to take that away is disrespectful.
7. Wawa Closing — You might have heard, but the Wawa on 3300 Market Street has officially shut down its location in the General Services Building. I was devastated when I heard the news. I am aware that they had everything under lock and key, however it was close to my dorm and all of my classes, so whenever I wanted to just make a quick stop, I could. Now the only close option is to walk to UPenn’s Wawa or a similar but more expensive place like Old Nelson.
8. People who are rude to waitstaff
9. Taxes
10. Societal pressure to be skinny — Whether it be the next weight loss drug like Ozempic, influencers pushing lymphatic drainage, Korean jelly that may or may not help, or people encouraging eating disorders on social media in the big 2026, it never goes away. No matter where I turn, I am left feeling like I need to be a certain way in order to be determined pretty by society. I have been conditioned to think this way since my childhood, starting with the small offhanded comments by family members that claim they mean no harm.
11. People who are always late
12. Telemarketers
13. Bad WiFi
14. People who abandon/abuse animals
15. People with bad hygiene
16. People with no personal space
17. Passive aggressiveness
18. Elon Musk
19. People who wear shorts in the winter — They have no sense, and I want them to desperately go get some.
20. The Eagles losing in the first round of the playoffs — Even though I am not a native Philadelphian, I grew up loving the Eagles. So when I moved here for school, I knew that the team spirit would go crazy. Watching the Eagles in the Super Bowl last year was the best thing I ever experienced. This year was like watching a different team at times, and when we were counting on them, they sold.
21. The rise of conservatism — Over the past year, I noticed there were certain trends that were mimicking a rise in conservatism, such as trad-wives, the push for dressing modestly, red pill content, etc.
22. Cat haters — You must like dogs, huh? You think dogs are better because they listen, right? I think it is more about control; cats are independent creatures, and you like that dogs need constant attention and direction.
23. Public displays of affection — I do not have any issues with couples that show affection in public in the form of a hug or hand holding, but it can be a little much when people are full-on making out. Like, I do not need a performance that proves you love each other.
24. Netflix canceling good shows
25. Shipping real people — We have gotten too comfortable being involved in other people’s personal lives. When we watch a television show/movie, the actors involved have done their job and acted to make us believe they are in love with each other. Most of the time, these people have partners in real life and are not comfortable sharing them with the public because of how parasocial people become. People need to separate the actor from the character they are playing. Stop shipping real people.
26. White people wearing braids/locs — This is cultural appropriation.
27. Backseat driving
28. Talking during a movie
29. Bad texting — I do not believe anyone can be a bad texter in this day and age. Realistically, everyone has a smartphone and is checking their messages. It is simply about whether they care enough about you to reply. Obviously, there are exceptions, but most of the time, people just do not care.
30. Dating apps — I experienced my fair share of dating apps, and it was not pleasant. Most of the men said one thing and meant another.
31. People with no social skills
32. People who smell — There is no reason for this. Go take a shower immediately! Put on deodorant, wear perfume.
33. People who do not pick up after themselves
34. Inflation
35. Online Shopping — There is no guarantee with online shopping, especially when buying clothing. Before I buy anything, I look at the reviews, the sizing chart, quality, etc. It can be so complicated. If I just went to the store in person and tried it on, I would be able to see if I like it on my body and not go through extra steps.
36. Irresponsible people
37. Reckless drivers — This could mean a few different things: whether you drive very fast, move in between lanes, drive drunk, go through lights/stop signs, not slow down over curves, etc. If I am in a car with someone, I want to trust you and not expect someone to put my life at risk. I think that is a pretty decent ask.
38. Financial negligence
39. Arrogance
40. Micromanagers
41. Lack of compassion
42. Poor/no manners
43. Sports betting
44. Celebrities in Hollywood all getting on Ozempic
45. Ghosting — If you ghost someone, you are probably the most immature person in existence. Just be a decent human being and communicate your feelings.
46. Loud chewing/eating
47. Fake niceness
48. Cancel culture
49. Online bullying/ irl bullying
50. Overconsumption
51. Ads everywhere
52. Sneezing/coughing without covering your mouth
53. Littering — Go find a trash can.
54. Two-factor authentication fatigue
55. Bodyshaming
56. Any of the phobias — Why are you so hateful?
57. Sad beige moms
58. Noisy neighbors
59. People who always complain
60. Not going to therapy
61. Drexel investing in OpenAI
62. Kill shelters
63. Serial cheaters — Just break up.
64. Compulsive Liars — Go get therapy.
65. Procrasinators
66. Hating the beach
67. The normalization of cocaine — Every celebrity is singing about their cocaine use, e.g., Charli XCX, Harry Styles, Steve Lacy, Doechii, and recently, Finn Wolfhard made a joke about it on a Saturday Night Live skit. I know that cocaine and other drugs have always been used in Hollywood, but this normalization is so prominent that it makes it seem okay to the younger generation that looks up to these celebrities. Especially since there have been many deaths associated with the overdose of cocaine, including Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston.
68. Jennifer Lopez — JLo is beautiful on the outside but rotten on the inside. She is so rude, and that is probably why she has been married four times and divorced four times. She cannot sing.
69. Police brutality — Breonna Taylor 26, Daunte Wright 20, Andre Hill 47, George Floyd 46, Atatianna Jefferson 28, Philando Castile 32, and the list goes on.
70. People who do not use turn signals — Do you want to cause an accident?
71. People who do not hold the door open even though they saw you coming
72. People who talk over others
73. Hating on music genres
74. Performative activism
75. People who think that setting boundaries is a personal attack
76. Unpaid internships
77. Situationships
78. Love bombing
79. Rage bait content
80. Nepo babies
81. Not recycling
82. Going slow in the fast lane
83. Hating Meghan Markle
84. Hating roller coasters
85. People who vape — Worse than smoking, going to get popcorn lung.
86. Smokers — Smells straight awful, going to get lung cancer.
87. Androids — Apple is better.
88. Hustle culture
89. Andrew Tate — rise of red pill content
90. Logan Paul — Another awful person. Lawsuit with Prime.
91. Book bans — There have been around 23,000 bans on books according to PEN America since 2021. Books that mention race, racism, LGBTQ+, and gender have been removed from public schools, with Florida, Texas, and Tennessee leading the charge. This is ridiculous because these right-wing governments think that these books cause indoctrination when really, they want to teach a different version of history. They want to keep American students uneducated and ignorant of the truth.
92. National literacy crisis — In our country, most adults currently read on average at a 6th grade level.
93. Bugs — All bugs are gross. They have too many legs. They crawl everywhere. There is always one fly that buzzes in your ear and never leaves you alone. They are pests.
94. Fluorescent lighting — Warm white lighting is superior.
95. Healthcare CEOs — Could care less about people.
96. AI — Draining our water sources.
97. Main character syndrome
98. Companies greenwashing
99. Loneliness epidemic
100. Optimism being treated as naivety
